Oxford Chester Uni of Higher Education Signs MoU with LBU State University in Nepal

Oxford Chester Uni of Higher Education proudly announces the successful signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with LBU State University, Nepal, a prestigious institution renowned for its contributions to Buddhist studies, higher education, and global academic cooperation. This landmark partnership signifies a strengthened commitment toward internationalisation and academic excellence, bringing Sri Lanka and Nepal closer through shared educational values and long-term collaboration.


The MoU lays the foundation for a broad spectrum of joint initiatives. Both universities will collaborate on academic program development and progression pathways, while strengthening opportunities for student and staff mobility. The agreement also paves the way for cooperative research, joint publications, curriculum enhancement, and the hosting of seminars, workshops, and international knowledge-sharing events.


The signing ceremony was graced by an esteemed delegation from Lumbini Buddhist University, led by Prof. Dr. Subarna Lal Bajracharya, Vice Chancellor. He was accompanied by Prof. Thilak Ram Acharya, Registrar, Mr Rajendra Ghimire, Director, Center for International Relations -LBU and Prof. Dr. Kumar Khadka, School of Development Studies and Applied Sciences; Director, Confucius Institute at LBU, whose presence highlighted the University’s strong commitment to deepening cross-border academic ties.


Representing OCU were Most Venerable Rev. Dr. Assaji Thero, Dr. Dulan Hettiarachchi, and Professor Gamini Ranasinghe, who warmly welcomed the delegation and reaffirmed the institution’s dedication to global educational partnerships.


Speaking at the event, Dr. Dulan Hettiarachchi, Chairman and Co-Founder of OCU, expressed his optimism about the collaboration.
